I made this cute card using my new good friend Mr. Big Shot for a very special friend of mine for her birthday. One of the many things I LOVE about Stampin' Up! is that they force me to put colors together that I would have never put together otherwise. I would have never dreamed of putting a pastel pink, a deep red and a dark brown together, but look here-- it is gorgeous.

So for this card I used two of the Bigz SU Big Shot dies-- the #2 Scallop and the Scallop Envelope. Can you tell I'm loving playing with my SU Big Shot? Anyway, I used my Crop-a-dile to emboss the little circles on both the envelope made out of Bella Rose designer paper and the big pink scallop made out of Pink Pirouette cardstock. I added a little detail on the pink scallop as I went around the outside of the scallop with the vine from the Fresh Flowers set in Pink Pirouette.
Inside the little envelope is a cute little birthday card for my friend with a little more Bella Rose designer paper scalloped with the scallop edge punch and some more of the vine from Fresh Flowers in Pink Pirouette. For a little extra drama I added some Chocolate taffeta ribbon around the envelope.

All of this is placed on a 5 1/4 x 5 1/4" textured Riding Hood Red card and then layered on a sheet of 5 1/2 x 5 1/2" Chocolate Chip cardstock. The greeting is from the Wonderful Words set. This card fits perfect in one of the Chocolate Chip envelopes from the Carousel Notes card set.

Elegant Dreams

Another Dreams Du Jour card... This one we did at stamp club last night. We used the SU! Big Shot to create this adorable little Pink Pirouette scallop envelope front and center. The envelope is made with textured cardstock which you may not be able to see. It contains a cute little 2x3" Whisper White card with some Bella Rose designer paper and the butterfly from the Dreams set. The butterfly is stamped in Basic Brown and watercolored with a blender pen in Pink Pirouette and a hint of Regal Rose. I added a bit of Chocolate Taffeta ribbon on the envelope.

The little scalloped envelope is put on a postcard, not an entire card. I figured the little card is enough of a card-- no need for a big card
too. The rest is easy. The base is Pink Pirouette with a layer of Chocolate Chip, scalloped with a layer of Bella Rose designer paper. The group really loved it a I think it's an elegant and easy card.

More Deams

I hope you're not to sick of the Dreams Du Jour samples yet. I'm waiting patiently for my first big order from the new catalog but it won't be here until early next week. I think every single person with a catalog placed an order last Monday and the great people who ship at Stampin' Up! have been working 24/7 filling orders. Unfortunately, they didn't ship mine first! So, until my new goodies get here, these samples with my only new set, Dreams Du Jour, will have to tide you over my friends.

This sample uses the new In Color Tangerine Tango, along with the now famous Bella Rose designer paper and this gorgeous butterfly from this set. I stamped the butterfly in the permanent Basic Brown ink and watercolored it in with Tangerine Tango. I also used the new Scallop Edge punch on this card. This makes life so much easier... rather than having to use that slit or corner rounder punch to make a scallop edge-- this is just so much easier. Enjoy!

Set: Dreams Du Jour
Ink: Basic Brown, Tangerine Tango to watercolor
Cardstock: Tangerine Tango textured, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Accessories: 1 3/8 Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, 1/16" punch, Scallop Edge Punch, White Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimmensionals, Blender Pen

Bella Rose

This is a very simple yet elegant card with VERY little stamping. Instead it uses one of the roses from the Bella Rose designer series paper. I cut out the rose and the leaves and used it for the focal point on this card. The colors are mostly new In-Colors-- Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss. Pretty color palette!

Set: All Holidays
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Accessories: White Taffeta Ribbon, Scallop Edge Punch, Bella Rose Designer Series paper

LOVIN' My Big Shot

I've been holding out forever on getting the Cuttlebug or Sizzix... drooling over all of the cute stuff my club members are making. I'm so excited that Stampin' Up! now has the SU Big Shot. They have some exclusive dies that you can only get through SU. They are currently only selling dies, but we hope to see embossing products in the near future. Don't you know that I was one of the first people online to order it. I was amazed at how fast it was delivered... and I've been having so much fun playing with it.
For this card, I used the new Pink Pirouette cardstock and ink and the Bella Rose designer paper along with an old favorite set- Always- to create this soft design. Then for the greeting I used the die Join In the Cheer-- one of the SU exclusive Dies. It is a long 12" die that includes the words "Peace & Joy & Love & Cheer" and I cut off the "Cheer" for this card. It is cut out of the Bella Rose designer paper. This is a really cute die that I think can be used for lots of different things.

Set: Always
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Accessories: Pretties, Scallop Punch, Bella Rose Designer Paper, Chocolate Taffeta Ribbon, Dimmensionals, SU Big Shot and Join in the Cheer Die

Dreams Du Jour

My first set from the new catalog was Dreams Du Jour. It reminds me of the old labels on packages and feed sacks.

This card was inspired by a card that one of my good friends Susan sent me for my birthday. I know that Susan used her Scor-Pal to do the scoring on the white cardstock... however I used my scoring blade and my Fiskars cutter. Pacific Blue is my favorite of the new In Colors. I paired it along with Kiwi Kiss to create a cool color palette for this card. A gold brad and some Old Olive (but it looks pretty kiwi to me) wide grosgrain ribbon gives the card some texture.

Sets: Dreams Du Jour
Ink: Basic Black (Pacific Blue, Kiwi Kiss to watercolor with)
Cardstock: Pacific Blue, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White
Accessories: Dimmensionals, Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon, Gold Brad, Fiskars Cutter

I'm Back and the New Catalog is Here

I'm so sorry I've been missing in action lately... This summer has been a real bummer. I've been traveling so much for work. Almost ever three weeks, I've been off again... somewhere else, to a new conference for work. First to Denver, then Arizona, then to Ohio for family, then to New Orleans, then I just went to Wisconsin. Now I'm home and I'm not going anywhere else for awhile. So I promise to be a better blogger. I've got things to play with and things to post. I can't wait to order new stamps from the NEW catalog.

Have you seen it?
If you have
n't, you need to get in touch with me, so you can get your copy. Or better yet, host a workshop and get a free catalog... and fabulous free hostess sets (they are sooo good!) and free merchandise! Call me today to get your stampin' booty!
