Inspired by Nature

Here is a card that I did with one of my clubs last week. I got this set for free from SU because I have a card that will be published in the June newsletter.

This card is done in Rose Red, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip. First, I stamped the grass in the background with Kiwi Kiss. Then I used markers to ink up the flower stamp and stamped it over the grass. I rounded the top corners on all layers.

The greeting is from the Oval All set in the new Occasions Mini. I stamped it in Chocolate Chip and colored the butterfly in in So Saffron. Then I punched the greeting out with the Large Oval punch and the outline with the new Scallop Oval punch in the Occasions Mini catalog. This greeting was added to the narrow chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon with two gold brads.

Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Rose Red, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Rose Red, Chocolate Chip and Old Olive Markers, Large Oval, Scallop Oval and Corner Rounder punches, Gold Brads, Narrow Chocolate Chip Ribbon

Father's Day

I'm holding a masculine card class in early May so have been kinda in the mood for-- looking for and working on masculine looking cards. Here is one that I created after seeing something similar on SplitCoast Stampers.

These cattails are easy to make. The grass stamp comes from the Inspired by Nature set and then you punch out chocolate slot punches and adhere them to the grass. It's cool 'cuz it creates dimension and texture.

The colors for this card are Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla. Enjoy!

Mother's Day

This is a card we have been doing at my clubs recently. It's a gorgeous card with one of my favorite color combinations -- Almost Amethyst and Lovely Lilac.

This card uses the floral stamp from Thoughts and Prayers as well as the jumbo wheel Friendly Words. The main image is stamped in Almost Amethyst ink and then I colored directly on the stamp with the Always Artichoke marker. Remember-you can always color over a lighter color ink with a darker color marker. I do this a lot. Then I added Lovely Lilac dots in the middle of the flowers...added a little paper piercing and a greeting to finish off the main image. The background is done in Versamark with the jumbo wheel. I added a little White Taffeta ribbon for texture and voila... there you are.

Sets: Thoughts and Prayers, All Holidays and Friendly Words jumbo wheel
Ink: Almost Amethyst and Versamark
Cardstock: Almost Amethyst, Lovely Lilac and Whisper White
Accessories: Silver Brads, White Taffeta Ribbon, Small and Medium Oval Punches, Paper Piercer and mat

I've been really busy preparing for a art/craft show called MOMArt. It's a great show and a big portion of the proceeds go to a local community charity. This year's charity is called Genesis Home. Genesis Home works to end homelessness for families with young children and young adults by providing housing and supportive services to foster independence. It's really a great organization and the ladies that put together MOMArt are quite amazing as well. I'm excited to be part of this event for the second year. It is being held May 1-3 in downtown Durham, NC. You can get more info here.

I've been creating all kinds of different products for the event. One is this shopping organizer. Here are a few other pictures of the inside...

The inside has a notepad on the left side to write down your grocery list, a pen and on the right side a folder with tabs to organize your coupons. Too cute huh?

The template for this little gem is one of Lauren Meader's called "All Boxed Up" and can be found at Papertreyink

Supplies:
Cardstock: Craft, Baha Breeze, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Parisian Breeze designer paper, 1 3/8" and 1 1/2" circle punches, Ice Rhinestones, Baha Breeze striped grosgrain ribbon, Sticky Strip, Rounded Tab Punch, notepad

No stamping--- blah!

Sorry I haven't posted lately... I haven't had any time to stamp so nothing to really post. So, for today, I'll just share a recent picture of my little Jasmine. Silly beagle.

I promise to be back tomorrow with a project for you.

Great Friend in the Park

So, I got this idea from Beate and one of her challenge cards. I simplified it some and changed it up to make it my own.

It's a 3x6" card in Chocolate Chip and has Walk in the Park designer paper. The images are from the Great Friend set from the new Occasions Mini. The butterflies are stamped in Baha Breeze and the greeting in Chocolate Chip. The two ribbons I used (the polka dot and baha) are from the Valet Ribbon Originals set. It's satin and gorgeous.

I really love this card, but it does involve a lot of cutting. I won't be doing this at my club. They hate to cut!

Set: Great Friend
Ink: Baha Breeze, Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Accessories: Valet Ribbon Originals, Dimmensionals, Walk in the Park Designer Series Paper

Great Friend

I participate in a small swap with a few other demonstrators every time a new product line comes out and so we just did a three card swap with product from the new Occasions Mini catalog. This was one of my cards.

This was a very simple card using the Great Friends set and the Walk in the Park Designer Paper. I fell in the love with the butterfly immediately and that's what made me get this set.

There's really not all that much to describe on this card except maybe the colors. The butterfly is Regal Rose and the leaves are Certainly Celery. The greeting is Basic Grey. I hope you like.

Ink: Certainly Celery, Basic Grey, Regal Rose
Cardstock: Whisper White
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, 1/16" punch, Grey Taffeta Ribbon, Dimmensional

Buddy Love

This is my dad's best friend-- Buddy. Isn't he gorgeous? Well, its my dad's 65th birthday on Friday. I made him this card using the Man's Best Friend set. The dog is a little skinny, but he's suppose to be Buddy.

This is a 4 1/4 inch square with a Basic Black base, a layer of Real Red and then the Basic Grey card. I ran the card through the Big texture plate. Then I added the dog (Buddy) focal point layered on Real Red. For a little texture I created a band in Basic Black and added a red (non SU) brad. The Happy Birthday greeting along the side is from the All Holidays set.

I hope he likes the card and the gifts. I sent him an NCAA Tar Heel championship t-shirt hot off the press and a frame with photos from his grandaughter's wedding last month. He's becoming a softie in his years, so I think he'll like it a lot.

Set: Man's Best Friend, All Holidays
Ink: Basic Black
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Grey, Basic Black, Real Red
Accessories: Big Shot and Texture Plate, Pretty in Pink Marker

Mini Photo Album

Today I have another cute little project from last week's Big Shot class. This is an easy little brag book made from the Top Note die.

The covers are made with the On board Book chipboard sheets. Did you know there are actually about 50 different items you can run through the Big Shot and chipboard is one of them? One thing to remember though is that you have to use the Bigz dies with chipboard.

The inside of the album is 6 sheets of Whisper White cardstock.

The cover is designed with Sale-a-bration materials including the Delicate Dots DSP and the celery twill ribbon. I printed the word "photos" out on the computer and punched it out with the Curly Label punch and mounted it on a layer of So Saffron. The tag is attached with one of those cute little white library clips. And lastly I punched a whole wiht the Crop-a-dile and threaded a ring to hold it all together.

Chest of Drawers

Here is another project from my Big Shot class last Tuesday night. This is the cutest little chest of drawers. I saw a sample of this on Splitcoast and had to recreate.

This little cuties is made out of the Matchbox die. You make three of the matchboxes and put little pulls on the ends with ribbon and brads. Then you stack them and add a sheath of cardstock around them (which I decorated with designer paper) and add a ribbon and tag from the Great Friend set.

This is really a very simple project even though it looks quite complicated.

Set: Great Friend
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss

Cardstock: Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip,
Summer Sun, Very Vanilla
Acessories: Sweet Sunshine DSP, Narrow and wide Chocolate Grosgrain ribbon, Gol

Another Daisy

Earlier this week I did a class with 6 projects using the Big Shot. It was a huge success. I think everyone really enjoyed the class and the projects.

This daisy card was one of the projects. This is a relatively simple card with a fabulous Tangerine Tango daisy as the main image. As I mentioned below, the daisy is made with the Daisy die and the Big Shot. There are 6 layers to this flower-- 3 of each size which makes it much fuller.

The card itself if Whisper White and I ran it through the Big Shot with the large dot texture plate. The designer paper on top is from the Sweet Always set. The "stem and leaves" are made with narrow olive grosgrain ribbon. To finish off the card, I added one of the Latte buttons in the very middle of the Daisy and a greeting from Sweet Sayings.

Hope you are enjoying the daisies... spring is on it's way!

Set: Sweet Sayings
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Whisper White, Tangerine Tango
Accessories: Big Shot, Daisy Die, Large Dot Texture Plate, Olive Grosgrain Ribbon, Sweet Always DSP, Latte Button
