Carousel Notes Purse

If this isn't the cutest thing I've ever seen, I don't know what is. Seriously! You're not going to believe that this little purse is made out of carousel note envelopes. Yep! Believe it!
All praise goes to
Jan Tink for coming up with this cute little creation. There are lots of pictures, because there is a lot to this little baby. I'm not going to go into the details of how to make it because there is a tutorial on Jan's website... Thanks Jan. I'm so thrilled with the way this turned out. Now I just n
eed to find some pictures to fill it with.

More fun with Carousel Notes

If you've never checked out Patty Bennett's Blog, you should. She's come up with these very cute cards using one quarter of a carousel note... and then tucked a little 3x3 note card inside. How cute is this?

For the front embellishment I used the scallop rub-on from the A Perfect Day rub-ons from the Spring Mini on the Wild Wasabi scallop punch. Then I cut out the cute flower and leaf from the Afternoon Tea background paper (also from the Spring Mini) and layered it on Whisper White and Groovy Guava layered circles
Very very sweet way to use these carousel notes huh?
I'll have a very special blog post tomorrow... come back, now... ya hear!

Been a little under the weather

Sorry, I haven't been posting lately... I've been a little under the weather. I've been fighting a sinus infection or some nasty crud and haven't quite been myself. I promise to get back to it and bring you some inspiration this week.

Beautiful Spring Colors

It was such a beautiful weekend... I was saying how much I absolutely LOVE where I live. I used to live in another part of the country where it's still cold and sometimes still snowing. I moved about 10 years ago to NC and this time of year so reminds me of why I came here and how much I love it here. Everything is alive and blooming so early, the Carolina blue sky is beautiful and cloudless and it's WARM. Check out the lovely colors in these photos I took this weekend...

Just a quick post to wish you all Happy Easter Blessing on this wonderful day. May God bless you and fill your life with his grace and mercy.

Happy Spring

Loving the Die Cut Blooms... I'm sure I've already mentioned that. This is a really simple, but cute card. And, I got to use some other favorites-- the rub ons and the rhinestone brads. These die cut blooms have been a new favorite among my customers... because they are so easy.

Set:
Short and Sweet

Cardstock:
Old Olive

Ink:
Basic Black

Accessories:
Die Cute Blooms, A Perfect Day Rub Ons, Fire Rhinestone Brads, Dimmensionals

Happy Everything

This is a fun card with a fun story that I thought I'd share with you today.

My mom is from Ohio, but much prefers the NC winters so has been with me since January. Well, she kinda forgot a friend's birthday in late January and the friend isn't very happy about it. So, we came up with this cute card to make up for it and sent it last month.

Now, if you got this card, wouldn't you get over it and be thrilled? Nope, not a word from her friend. She's really mad... Hmmph.

Another Carousel Note Card

Today I have another Carousel Note card for you.

This one uses Afternoon Tea designer paper again along with the Refuge and Strength set. It's hard to see, but I also stamped the vine from the set around the outside rim with Versamark. Added a little flower from the Pretties set for some texture and that's about it. I used the Creative Memories cutting system for the Whisper White and Chocolate Chip circles that layer the Carousel Note. Very simple card.

Set: Refuge and Strength
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Soft Sky, Versamark
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Soft Sky, Groovy Guava
Accessories: Afternoon Tea DSP, Sponge Dauber, Pretties, Carousel Notes

As you can tell, I really do like this set

This is a card that I did with my club the other night and most of them really liked it... except the hostess... who's a really good friend. When I started to talk about taking off the foo-foo poodle, she wasn't very happy with me. Why? Well, because she has a poodle! Hershey is a cute little dog and Debbie's perfect friend! Great lesson about why you should think about what you say before you open your mouth. 37 years and I've never been able to master that art! My guess is I never will!

For this cute card, I decided to quit hoarding my Pretties Kit and let my club members play with them... and showed them how to color the flower using the ink pad and sponge daubers... they loved them. Also showed them how to use the small oval punch to make the shadow for her to stand in. Loving the chocolate twill ribbon too! Hope you enjoy this card!

Set: She's All That
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Shimmery White, Chocolate Chip, Soft Sky, Groovy Guava
Accessories: Afternoon tea, Chocolate Twill Ribbon, Small and Large Oval Punches, Daubers, Pretties Kit, Cutter Kit

Carosel Notes Part Two

Are you enjoying these cute new carousel notes? I was really happy to see Stampin' Up! come out with these... they are really neat... unique... different. And did I mention how much I LOVE the chocolate envelopes? Oh yeah, I did mention that on the last post. Well, I really do.

On this card, I used the Creative Memories circle cutting system to cut a Chocolate Chip circle and then another circle out of the Afternoon Tea designer paper to mount on top of the carousel note. This may open up a whole can of worms here... but I'm just gonna get it out of the way. I'm really am a Stampin' Up! purist. I only use Stampin' Up! products to stamp with... to the point that I drive many of my customers batty. But, I simply CANNOT STAND the Coluzzle and I just have to admit that the Creative Memories cutting system is the best circle cutter on the market... so I just broke out of my SU comfort zone and got it and I do love it. Here are the results.

Now that that is out of the way... I used the flower from the Close as a Memory set and embossed it in white and then for words used the chocolate Love and Happiness rub-ons. For a little detail I used the crop-a-dile to dry emboss the little circles around the edge of the card. And then the taffetta chocolate ribbon adds a little texture and finishes of the card. Very very simple but elegant card.

Bloomin' Cute

So, I wasn't sure if I was going to like these die-cut blooms-- not much stamping involved. Well, of course I do... They are so easy to use... and I can use my Flower Fusion with them. The die-cut blooms are in the Occasions Mini and come in Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red and Old Olive-- once again, I would have NEVER put any of these colors together. Thanks
Stampin' Up! for forcing me to try some new color combinations.

I think I mentioned this before, but I am IN LOVE with the Flower Fusion set. I just got my second set... and if you haven't seen these yet, there are BUNCH of flowers in this set. Between me and my customers, we've used almost all of them from the first tin. Too cute!
This is a simple little sample using some of the blooms, with some felt flowers which gave me my color combination. I added a little paper piecing, a little bling, and the new Olive Twill with a tag-- the words are from "She's all That" and there you go... all done.

Set: She's All That
Ink: Basic Black
Cardstock: Purely Pomegranate, Whisper White, Old Olive
Accessories: Die Cut Blooms, Flower Fusion, Ice Rhinestone Brads, Olive Twill, Paper Piercer, 1/8" punch

Lovin' the New Carousel Cards

I don't know about you, but I'm really diggin' the new carousel cards in the Occasions Mini. Love the colors and the size and really love those chocolate envelopes that come with them. I think they are really unique and fun... cool new and different product that Stampin' Up! has come up with. I'm gonna have a few fun samples with them over the next few days for you.

The new Afternoon Tea designer paper is designed to go perfectly with the same colors of the carousel cards, so in this sample, you'll see that I used paper from that series as my color pallet. I also used my favorite set Always. Since these "cards" are single layered and don't open, I guess you just write your note on the back side.... Hope you like!

Set: Always
Ink: Chocolate Chip, (Groovy Guava, Soft Sky and River Rock to color)
Cardstock: Whisper White, Groovy Guava, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Afternoon Tea DSP, Chocolate Chip Twill, Silver Hodgepodge Hardware, Blender Pen

She's All That

Here's my first sample from the new Occasions Mini Catalog. My favorite set from the new mini is the cute girlie set-- She's All That. Yes, the girls in this set are just a little on the skinny side... I totally agree... I can't remember ever being that skinny--- but it's just a fun, girlfriend set.

This sample uses lots of new products from the mini-- the new Afternoon Tea Designer Paper, and the Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware ribbon slide along with the "Life is Good" gal from She's All That. This girl actually has a little poodle with her, but I'm not a froo-froo doggie kind of girl... and never been a big poodle fan. As you know-- I have a beagle-- and I like labs, golden retrievers and spaniels-- no, I'm not a froo-froo doggie kind of girl. So, I cut the poodle off-- I still have the poodle part of the stamp, in case I want to add it back on. But I kind of like her with her cup of java saying-- "Life is Good!" Tell me what you think!

Set: She's All That
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Versamark
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Soft Sky, Whisper White
Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Small Oval Punch, Dimmensionals, Stampin' Sponge, Silver Hodgepodge Hardware, Chocolate Taffeta Ribbon

Silly Sallie Scrapbook Page

So, here is another scrapbook page I recently did. No, I'm not becoming a scrapbooker.... but again, here are just a couple of pictures that HAD to be put on pages. This dog is so crazy.

For these pages, I had a hard time coming up with colors, but I tried to match some colors in the photos and wanted to use some designer paper-- so came up with the bashful blue and ruby red. I also knew I wanted to use star rub-ons and the start punch and so this is what I came up with.

I'd love to hear your comments... especially on my scrapbooking! I'm always looking for new ideas.
